Why Rape happens here ? Ask these leaders

Our country is a democratic nation, we all know. We elect our representatives so that they can serve us and can fight for our problems. However, after successfully contesting the election, no one hears back. Our own representative plays with laws and regulation. And they even don’t bother to pass their verdicts over different sensitive matters. One such matter is “Why Rape?”
The recording of crimes against women in India, including rape, domestic violence, and abuse, has taken a rise in last few years, partly because more women are contacting police. Women are becoming more vocal and more open when it comes to reporting abuses against them. However, women in India are still resistant to report sexual assaults because they have been repeatedly told that rape is a woman’s fault, by our leaders. These political leaders who are supposed to understand the gravity and support victim, take dearth of action and deliver the most stupid statements on the issue.
Take a look at some of our country’s leaders who have enlightened the society with giving these ridiculous reasons behind rapes and molestation:

The recent one
  • The more the nudity, the more a girl is considered fashionable. Ants will swarm the place where sugar is.
By Abu Azmi, Samaj wadi Party Leader

Boys are allowed make fun this way?
  • Should rape cases lead to hanging? Boys are boys, they make mistakes
By Mulayam Singh Yadav, Samaj wadi Party Leader

This one is from a woman itself. Is she not working with MEN in her party?
  • Rapes happen because men and women interact freely.
By Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister

Again from a woman. She used to be the CM of rape capital of our country.
  • All by herself till 3 am in a city where people believe... you know... you should not be so adventurous.
By Sheila Dikshit, former Delhi Chief Minister

Many other shameful and nonsensical
  • Rapes take place in cities and not in villages. Such incidents happen due to the influence of western culture and women wearing less.
By Mohan Bhagwat, Chief, Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS)
  • Child marriage is a solution to rape and other atrocities against women.
By Om Prakash Chautala, Former Haryana Chief Minister
  • Rape is a social crime which depends on the man and the woman. It is sometimes right and sometimes wrong
By Babulal Gaur, Bharatiya Janata Party leader

  • Just because the country attained independence at midnight, is it proper for women moving at midnight?
By Botsa Satyanarayana, Andhra Pradesh Congress leader, commenting on the Delhi gang rape
  • I have no hesitation in saying that about 90 percent of the girls consensually go with men and become targets of rape.
By Dharamveer Goyat, Hisar Congress, when asked about the rising number of rape cases in Haryana
  • Our party MP, Meenakshi Natrajan, is a Gandhian, simple and an honest leader.I am a seasoned smith of politics. Meenakshi sau tunch maal hai.
         By Digvijaya Singh, Congress leader
  • Like a new victory, a new marriage has its own importance, but as time passes, like the victory, a wife loses her charm.
By Sriprakash Jaiswal, former Coal Minister, Congress

I find it the most foolish comments when a khap panchayat in Haryana's Jind district had blamed consumption of chowmein behind the growing incidents of rapes with saying it leads to hormonal imbalance. There is certainly a hormonal imbalance in the minds of these so-called people representatives when instead of taking action for establishing law and order, they pass these mindless comments. I can’t say but this could be their own analysis about the matter. But whatever it is, a case study or a research, it is a slap on our much-debated culture where it is said that “Women are honored where, divinity blossoms there”.“यत्र ना्यरस्तुपूज्यन्ते रमन्ते तत्र देवता”
