Secret Smoking is Affecting your Relationships.. To All men who smoke

"Smoking is extremely dangerous". We all know this very well and thanks to our government and laws which never let us forget any bit of it. We can see this message in red-bold everywhere, even at the cigarettes boxes as well. But why men from our society still find it difficult to understand? OR, if they understand it's negative effects then why they can't quit it? The health community has succeeded so well in convincing us of the dangers of smoking for our health. But another fact that no law can rationalize about smoking is it kills relationships.
As smoking out in the open becomes less acceptable in homes, offices, and other public places, people started "secret smoking" which is a new kind of part-time smoking and increasingly common on the current scene. Many husbands and fathers are also into this secret smoking thing. They utterly know that smoking in front of family members is not a healthy and civilized thing so they smoke secretly and try to hide it with mouth fresheners or chewing-gums. But sadly they fail to hide it completely because their hands and clothes scream that they just smoked. My blog is for all those fathers and husbands who still smoke knowing the fact that their families hate it. And with it, they are giving slow poison to their valuable relationships. Wives fear what would happen to their families if husbands fall sick. Kids fear how they would pass their lives with ailing fathers.
The process of smoking in secret is two-sided. On the side, smokers are "sparing" their loved ones, who would be upset to see them smoke. On the other hand, they are "sparing" themselves from acknowledging the guilt which smoking brings to them. Despite the fact that they know it's unhealthy, filthy and nasty, they are not able to give it up or they don’t want to try their best. Smoking not only affects their relationship with family and friends but it affects their relationship with themselves and their own bodies. Wives try to change their husbands in the name of their love but mostly fail. They also try to make them understand its side-effects on their kids. But no matter what family members do, smokers find a way to prove it 'not that fatal' by limiting the no of cigarettes.
With due respect to their personal space and habits, I want to ask a few questions to all those men who are fathers, husbands, and smokers also. Do you know what are the consequences of engaging in this hidden behavior (secret smoking) that your spouse and kids are so against? Why do families want you to stop smoking? If you fail to answer, let me tell you because your family members love you a lot! They want to see you all healthy and happy. They want to avoid any such moment when you don’t feel best of your spirit. Your family members value your life so much.
As I don’t smoke, I might not understand the challenges of quitting this habit. However, all I want to say to all such men who smoke, “make your life better by going smoke-free”. With your secret smoking, you are letting your loved ones down even without noticing. I know it’s difficult but not impossible. Please consider it for your family!

#MoreIndianThanYouThink Being an Indian Mother is Success for me

This world is a beautiful place. It’s really amazing how different countries with their unique cultures exist in harmony here. I know, there are some exceptions; however, I think that is almost negligible when I see the culmination of values and beliefs in our universe. Everyone is exclusive and different, yet all of us make this planet livable. As a mature person who got the chance to understand the ethos of a few other continents, I can proudly say that our country holds a different space in this world, a culture that is known for its strong family system and core values. Feeling proud about our mother land is no unique. But being an Indian, I have gained so much at my professional front.

Yes, I am a working mother of a 3-year-old boy. I have close to 9 years of experience in software industry and I am looking forward to work for more and more years. Being a mother and being a professional person bring two different kinds of challenges in life. And when you work for a demanding clien…

#MothersDay - A blog by Divya, ANAYA's Mother

A mother becomes a mother the day she gets to know about the little embryo inside her womb.
It all started one fine day when I did my pregnancy test and it resulted positive. Life changed from the very moment. I was excited but a bit nervous too. I and my husband were working in two different cities that time. So the excited supermom in me felt extra responsible to take care of the baby. I started spending my days managing home, office, long travel, shopping, exercise, reading and any and every thing which could be added to the list. My baby kept me motivated and never let me feel alone. At times when I felt low she kicked me as if she was saying ‘Don’t worry mom. You rock! :) However, by end of sixth month I felt exhausted and I decided to move to my mother’s place for delivery and give some time to my husband to settle down with his work life.

After seven hectic years of work life I was enjoying a peaceful time. Days were spent in all sorts of preparations to welcome the child. But…
