Other than keeping healthy, playing out gives these 7 benefits to kids

It is aptly said by someone that "Nature is not a place to visit, it is home." In my previous blog "Help Kids To Connect To Mysteries Of Nature", I tried to put my points why it is imperative for kids to be in touch with Nature. If your house has backyard where kids can play then you are in heaven. Else playground is a great way to get feel of nature and openness. Being out, Kids get chance to run, jump, swing, climb and explore. Keeping kids active, healthy, more focused and fit are few common benefits of exposure to Nature. But there are even more gains in playing out for kids which may surprise you :
1. Playing out let kids release extra energy : Some kids are over enthusiastic. And keeping such kids inside is a big challenge. They keep on breaking things and keep on throwing tantrums for parents. Taking such kids outdoor helps them release their energy and ease their minds.
2. Playing out let kids be social : Inside playground, kids share things. They tend to me meet other kids playing there. This way they learn how to make new friends. They get chance to meet other kids having common interest so they become more friendly and cordial.
3. Playing out let kids learn patience : When there are more than one kid inside a park, everyone needs to wait for their turn in getting chance to play, for example going over slides. It's obviously different than playing with siblings because kids know that other kids are not family members and throwing tantrums will not work with them. This way they learn how to share, take turns, and wait.
4. Playing out minimize screen time for kids: If you keep kids inside, they need something to engage with. Toys help till certain age/time but after that kids need TV, computers, Phones, Ipads and other gazettes to go with. Playing outside limits their screen time and make them do physical activities. Being out, they'll be electronics free, at-least for some times, because our homes are full of electronics stuff.
5. Playing out make kids more imaginative : Playground brings lots of imagination for kids. It's because many times they do pretend plays there. Cute girls often play home-home and pretend tea parties. Boys like mimicking super heroes, pirates and car races. It's so wonderful that all kids whether they know each other well or not, they get into sync so quickly about any such game. This is actually the beauty of being imaginative.
6. Being out let you play with your kids : If your are inside, how many times you play with your kids ? Very few because we mothers keep on noticing other things which need to be done like kitchen stuff, cleaning or laundry. But if you are outside, you are free ( at-least for some time) to play with your kids. You can go over slides, you can enjoy swings and believe me it's awesome to remember your childhood time while watching kids playing freely. This also makes your kid's confidence over you stronger.
7. Playing out save kids from indoor pollution: Bad ventilation can make air quality worse inside our houses. Also, the products we use for cleaning, carpentry, gardening, and many other household uses can contain ingredients that can harm our kids. Like washing powders, air freshers, paints, pesticides and even fumes of dhup batties and incense sticks create air pollution inside homes. Taking kids outside let them get fresh air and they boost their immune systems.
I believe many of the mothers already understand the importance of playing out. However,if because of unknown fears you are keeping your kids inside then you need to change it. Take them to playground everyday and let them enjoy playing outside under your supervision. Nature itself is the best doctor and being out let all of us get the healing energy and zing without any cost.

#MoreIndianThanYouThink Being an Indian Mother is Success for me

This world is a beautiful place. It’s really amazing how different countries with their unique cultures exist in harmony here. I know, there are some exceptions; however, I think that is almost negligible when I see the culmination of values and beliefs in our universe. Everyone is exclusive and different, yet all of us make this planet livable. As a mature person who got the chance to understand the ethos of a few other continents, I can proudly say that our country holds a different space in this world, a culture that is known for its strong family system and core values. Feeling proud about our mother land is no unique. But being an Indian, I have gained so much at my professional front.

Yes, I am a working mother of a 3-year-old boy. I have close to 9 years of experience in software industry and I am looking forward to work for more and more years. Being a mother and being a professional person bring two different kinds of challenges in life. And when you work for a demanding clien…

#MothersDay - A blog by Divya, ANAYA's Mother

A mother becomes a mother the day she gets to know about the little embryo inside her womb.
It all started one fine day when I did my pregnancy test and it resulted positive. Life changed from the very moment. I was excited but a bit nervous too. I and my husband were working in two different cities that time. So the excited supermom in me felt extra responsible to take care of the baby. I started spending my days managing home, office, long travel, shopping, exercise, reading and any and every thing which could be added to the list. My baby kept me motivated and never let me feel alone. At times when I felt low she kicked me as if she was saying ‘Don’t worry mom. You rock! :) However, by end of sixth month I felt exhausted and I decided to move to my mother’s place for delivery and give some time to my husband to settle down with his work life.

After seven hectic years of work life I was enjoying a peaceful time. Days were spent in all sorts of preparations to welcome the child. But…
